Can't figure it out but iMovie, iDVD, and iPhoto were nowhere to be found when I finished installation of Tiger - moved from Panther 10.3.9 to 10.4.6.

Did I miss something in the installation?

Is there a way to get these apps from Apple?

    Thanks.

Those applications are not included with the Retail version of OS X Tiger. You will need to purchase iLife.

When you buy a new Mac, iLife is pre-installed and included on the Mac OS X Install Disk. However, when you purchase a new version of OS X, it is not. If Panther was the Original version of OS X that came with your Mac, an older version of iLife should be included on the Panther Install Disk.

Yes Panther was the original OS X that came with this ibook G4. I did a clean install (erase and install) of the Tiger. Is there a way to get iLife back from the Panther installation disk? Hope there is...

You can try using the Panther Install Disk. I'm not sure if it will work going from a newer to previous version though. Still here is what I would try. Insert the Panther Install Disk (Disk 1 I think). Double-Click Install Bundled Software Only, Click Continue/Agree/Continue until you reach the Installation Type Step and then Choose Customize. Click the little arrow next to Bundled Applications and then leave only check marks in the boxes for the Software you want to install. Finally Click Upgrade.

If that doesn't work you may have to completely reinstall OS X Panther, then when you install OS X Tiger don't do a Clean Install. Use the Upgrade Option ;).

Thanks Xander. I'll try this out later today.

    Keeping my fingers crossed...

I'm curious, were you able to use the Panther Install Disk to reinstall iLife on Tiger? If not, did you try locating the iLife Application packages and installing that way? You would need to use Terminal to view Hidden Files to locate the packages.
