Just checked the website....hopefully its not a glitch....but it appears there is no more 4-6 week delay in shipping for the 160gb 7,200rpm HD on the 15.4" System! So...I just bought a macbook pro!

    15.4" Widescreen
    2.4ghz
    160gb HD (7,200rpm)
    Glossy Screen
    2gb RAM

    Free Ipod Nano :)

    I'm so excited.

My estimated ship date is between July 2 and July 5. Did you order yours before me? Maybe your ship date will change on monday or sumthing. I can't see apple delivering mine before yours.

I just called apple. Although the 4-6 week delay is gone on the website, my ship date is still July 24th. The person on the phone basically said that if I canceled my order and made a new one, the shipdate would still be in 4-6 weeks for my configuration and address. And I'm from New York. This doesn't make any sense.

Just a heads up for people with custom configured 15" MBP w/ 7200rpm drives. Apple sent out their first shipments yesterday.

Question, can you return customized MBP to the store and get another if it has issues (screen, heat, etc...)?

I believe that you would have to mail the machine to California and then order a new one.

People who have ship dates listed as far as August are having their computers ship today. It seems the ship date doesn't ever change, even if your computer has shipped today it will still be listed as a ship date of August.
