So who wants to be the first to review iWorks and iLIfe 08?

    I'm fairly certain I won't get either...but I might be persuaded for iLife 08 :p

You don't think iWork '08 is great? :p

I really think I'm going to get it. Pages is a better word processor now, as well as an easy-to-use "Publisher" tool. Keynote is much better than PowerPoint. Numbers I won't use much, but still good anyways. Plus, its just $79 US, compared to $150-something for Microsoft Office Home & Student.

I don't see enough improvements for me to upgrade iLife '06 though. But since I never had iWork I might consider getting it now instead of getting Office 2008.

I'll need to see a very thorough review of Pages first, and then a lot of hands-on time with it...

Documents I work with are incredibly long, formatted very strictly, have all sorts of weird styles involving multiple sections with different layouts, etc. Also, I need to be able to compare documents and track changes easily (especially since Deltaview doesn't work in OSX). Finally, it needs to have 100% compatibility with all versions of MS Office, as well as possibly some 3rd-party software, without loss formatting at all. In other words, the old version of Pages, at least, doesn't have the features I need (that I'll risk anyway).

Maybe this new one will change things. We'll see!

One question, and only one question: does Pages have a palette feature akin to the one in Word '04?
