I'm going to purchase a Samsung T260 (non-HD) for my parents for their anniversary...

The thing is, my sister bought them each an aluminum MB...(i tried telling her to get them MBPs, but she couldnt justify it when 2 macbooks cost the same as 1 MBP)

I want to know, if they connected this monitor to the MB via the mini display port to DVI connector, will they be able to take advantage of the 1920x1600 resolution on the display??

What about the T260 HD version? WIll the DVI connector be able to output HD?

Yep, it will support up to 1920x1600, but nothing more. ;) I'm pretty sure that it will support in HD, but not a definite.

Toshibadude is not familiar with the precise differences between the Macbooks and Macbook Pros. The Macbook Pros are different from Macbook only in the dimension, screen resolution, ports, has faster CPU configurations, and has a faster GPU option. The Macbooks come with nVidia 9400m graphics, which is more than capable of handling 1080p resolutions.
