Mid autumn? Sadly, no. Their upgrade cycle is usually at least 180 days between updates (according to the Macrumors buyer's guide), so we probably won't see new ones 'til the beginning of next year.

agreed. They just had a chance to announce major upgrades. They didn't - probably because it'd create more over-heating issues. Apple has never been the first one to adopt new technologies

macrumors just posts average days between updates. And my mid autumn it already will be like 150 days,so i think they ll just to a joint update, not once for GPU and another for CPU

The highest they could put in the macbook pro would be the GT 240M (not the GTS 240m) because of the heat problem. The GT 240m is similar to the 9600m in heat and power which already is a little too hot for the macbook. Unless Apple creates a better cooling system the macbook pro will be limited to midrange cards.

yes the macbook pros will always be limited to midrange cards because if apple does ever release a laptop with a powerful GPU, they would be compromising the thinness of the laptop and the weight, which looks bad and thats a no-no for apple.

but i was just curious about the new cards since the 9600M GT is getting a bit outdated and the macbook pros should get a new GPU sometime this year.
