I just got a macbook and got to school. I plugged it into the ethernet cable (need to download a certificate through wired to use wireless) but the internet is not working. I went into system prefs and internet diagnosis and it says the internet is working fine. However, when i try to connect to ichat or safari it just keeps sayin connecting and then times out, obviously not working. What is wrong?

Have you tried rebooting the computer after you setup the certificate?

Sounds like you might have to adjust the proxy settings.

Ohh dude, if you are at school, you may have to log in or enter your user name or password before you can gain access to the school's wireless network. Sometimes it can get glitchy(I definitely know it is at my school), so you may want to talk to someone at your school that can help you out in that.
