Do you think Apple will get rid of Macbook's problems such as shutdown, color change, high tempeature completely on the next Macbook? I want to get it now but scared that I'll get one of those. People have been saying that anything after week 30 batches are alright but still.

dude, just get one! i've ordered mine just a minute ago :). if there is a problem, its gonna be the new macbook with the core2duo, since it is technically a new batch. i heard the perfomance improvement is minimal +/_ 'round 10%. Another fact u might wanna know is; the core2duo runs slightly hotter at idle, but cooler under load; power consumption also improved in the "final" version of the chip (the pre-release batch got problem with heat and battery consumption)

i've check macbook in apple store and its authorized retailer 3 days ago, the macbook doesn't seems all that hot for a 13"er with 1.8Ghz/2.0Ghz, it is warm-very warm, but nothing (too much) out of the ordinary, not sure if it'll get real hot under heavy heavy used though, that's why i get the APP, at least if there is a problem its gonna be covered for 3years, i suggest u do the same, since 1 year protection is rather low. the 17" MBP runs very warm though, if i remember it corectly; u were considering 15" one? probably that wouldn't be a good choice, since heat is an issue for u (and for me too!)

I was paranoid about that too, but I got over it. And I have no regrets.

"Roll the dice and take your chances"

Seriously though, if you need a notebook you should buy one.

Currently have a MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz and it will perform great with or without Core 2 Duo.

I highly doubt you will run applications that will make a difference whether or not it was run on a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.

I agree. Get off the fence. The Core2Duo will have no effect on the problems. If anything it could make some things worse.

Does the RSD problem effect the MBP's also? I just came from the authorized Apple Macbook forum and there is such a long list of horror stories I can't believe it. The last post on the RSD thread says Apple probably found the solution with a newly designed mother board or something, so those who get a MB after week 35 should be OK. I'd rather just wait some more. If the new revisions are worse I will keep what I have.

Most of the issues with the Macbook's and Macbook Pros have been solved for. In the case of the Macbook Pro the heat has not been a problem since they changed logic boards.

No the shutdown issue does not effect the MBP. Also, remember that Apple has the most vocal users. They praise and complain more than anyone else.
