I don't really care how ignorant they are... it doesn't effect me very often, except when the ignorance is by a buncha people in a software development company and refuse to make Mac products because of their own idiocy.... but that usually just happens in Game companies.

Games is more because of DirectX, which is much nicer API to use than OpenGL or Core Graphics.

That said, Objective-C (which OS X is based on) is not a very nice language to use, and Xcode pales compared to Visual Studio.

theres ways around that... code for DirectX right and switch out with SwiftShader and use Cider and its a easy cheap port to OSX, still running a DirectX Windows version... Some game companies are jumping on this stuff Transgaming is doing.

Objective-C, Xcode, Visual Studio, DirectX, etc... is all more of a preference thing. Same reason a lot of people stick with Windows, is the same reason they only know Windows programming well, and find it better.... it just cuz its what they know. 9 out of 10 Game programmers might say DirectX is the best for making games, but I wouldn't be surprised if 7 or 8 of them didn't know anything except DirectX.

For companies, its also a money thing. Having to rewrite games / game engines from scratch to support multiple platforms to get a few percent more sales probably doesn't look very encouraging from their perspective.
