Okay so my charger burned out on me. It's the original 60W charger that came with the laptop. And with the original head (not the newer "L" shaped one)

I was thinking of getting a 85w instead of a 60w charger since when i'm gaming my 60w creates a lot of heat and I think a 85w will allow more power to certain overclocked components.

But I also fear that it might damage my computer when not in gaming (overvolting the battery?)

Anybody have opinions? If the 85w charger does not damage the computer then I would definitely buy the 85w over the 60w

If anybody is wondering my mac is a 2008 low end unibody (see sig)

    Thanks in advance

An over wattage power adapter won't hurt your computer. A power adapter that has a higher voltage than the original one will.

I used an 85 watt adapter with my 2008 Unibody Macbook 13, no problems at all.

EDIT: I had the exact same Macbook you do, so the 85 watt will work perfectly.
