Well, over a year into owning my MBP, I've had two logic board failures(one right after the other, due to improper repair), a mag-safe adapter has shorted out(replaced for free), and now I'm getting a new battery.

I noticed my unplugged charge time was at 1:45, so I checked the charge capacity and found it to be 3497mAh(original: 5500) after only 90 cycles. I believe the work done of the logic board may have messed with the battery a bit because before that I was still at 97% capacity after 30 or 40 cycles.

Anyway, just doing an update that over a year into ownership this thing has had only one major problem which was taken care of very nicely. And yes, I keep this thing on the charger almost constantly. :)

Did they replace it for free? And if so, what'd you say to get it? I need to get mine replaced, it's down to about 2700 mAh remaining after 80 cycles (got it in August).

Yes I'm getting a free replacement. I just explained to the guy how ridiculous it was that the battery was at 63% after only 90 cycles, and kept telling him that it should be replaced for free(it took three times of me not letting him charge me for it).

Apple extended the warranty on batteries for all MB and MBP purchased from February 2006 to April 2007. You can find it on the support front page, bottom right You should have 80% battery health at 300 cycles according to apples site. Anything dramatically less warrants an exchange.

Hoorah for Apple being on the ball with customer/product service.

My new battery (bought a few months ago) is at 88% with 48 cycles.

But the number seems to fluctuate a lot.

I'm about a year or so into mine, and I still have 4806 left after 132 cycles. :)
