    The battery in the old remote was easily removable too. :/ Dunno what you guys are talking about. There is a small dimple on the bottom of the old remote and you press the button with a 3.5mm headphone plug and the battery pops out.

    I still don't understand why they'd release a new remote, but then release a macbook with no IR port. Doesn't really make any sense. The new Macbook is the first Mac in a long time to not have an IR port (save for the Mac Pro).

    The Remote is also no longer white. It's aluminum which matches the MBP's and iMacs. Apple most likely did this so that people wouldn't confuse things and think they could use it with the new Unibody MacBook.

    oh too bad they've removed the remote in the macbook...anyways, the screen is far too small to be able to use a remote far from the laptop as the user won't see anything on the screen.
