Entry is 99 cents (you purchase the app for ipod touch/iphone/ipad).

"Our cake is no lie. Earn it by cracking into the vault and it's all yours, totally free. What is it? You'll have to beat The Heist to find out… but it's fun, and it's worth much more than the price of entry. Good luck agent!"

The Heist: Can you crack the vault? (iPhone & iPod touch)

@macmansachin But for the record, the prize is worth 9.99, and is a code to redeem for a game on Steam

Yeah, the game thing is pretty lame (both the gimmick and the "prize"). Sound like they have either run out of ideas, or the ability to put together a good software package.

    Oh well.

I'm not a fan of this type of gimmick. I'd rather know that I was getting a good deal in advance. I'd be fine with a surprise IF I still knew I was getting a good deal. 99c is not a lot of money, but if the game is bad and the $10 value steam game is bad or if I already own it, then it could very well not be worth the 99c + the time to beat the game

The game seems to be Eets ( www.eetsgame.com). It is currently priced at $9,99 but I am pretty sure it was available much cheaper in steam deals in the past.

I did not buy the mac heist game or play it. This info comes from comments on other sites. So no guarantee. It is also possible that different people get different games.
