The unibody macbook is a bit cheaper and I don't really need firewire, however I've heard that the screen has been improved quite a bit. Could someone elaborate how? Not in like specs and numbers but more in like real life examples. Is it brighter? Do the colors pop out more? etc, etc.

Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it.

better screen quality, longer battery life. how much do these options worth for you?
Sure I go with a MBP-13 any day.

In general 13" MBP has better, more vibrant colors and deeper blacks than the old uMB.

But if the refurb is a newer one from April or later it has a pretty good screen too.

Old uMBs have very bright screens though, brighter than the 9C9E panel in some MBPs.

if you want to take the risk with the umb, then go for it. personally, i would buy a new mbp because of the new features (screen, complete unibody bottom, etc) it offers.

These comments pretty much answered your question.

If the price difference isn't that much, i'd recommend getting the new 13" Macbook Pro.
Even if the price difference is a lot, try saving up first.

He was talking about the unibody macbook, which already has the backlit keyboard.

The cheapest base unibody Macbook has no backlit keyboard.

Does anyone know the model number of the 'old' uMB screens and the 'new' uMB screens? I bought my uMB in the middle of April and am curious which screen I have.

That said, I have no complaints about my screen.... coming off a three year old Dell I love this screen (but look at what I am comparing it too :D ).
