    No question here, just comment.

Just bought new MacBook Pro after about 15 years of using Windows machines (first experience with Macs was in aerospace when for a time there they used Macs almost exclusively.) Very nice. Even nicer I've found that I don't need BootCamp for Windows applications . . . don't miss them at all! For office-type applications just use NeoOffice and Photoshop does a Mac version, too. It's great just to be able to get on a computer and do work rather than spending time (sometimes lots of it) trying to figure out how to make the thing work better or even work at all.

I just got my 15 inch and I love it. Wont lie, I still like windows, bbut the mac has made me happy too. And a good idea on the NeoOffice. I am downloading it now. Thanks.

Not really I used to have a 17inch computer and used it in college taking it to class, and it was never a problem as it fit right in my backpack. Now I use a 13inch macbook and its smaller but It doesn't offer that much more portability just lighter in my backpack. Now I'm buying a new computer and going back to 17inch screen. If you never had one it might seem large but it really is great having a full size screen and allot of desktop space (what the macbook lacks). Not to mention 17inch laptops are faster and run cooler. And its still 100% portable. I think the only laptops that are too big to be portable are the 18.4 inch ones with desktop processors. And the difference between the 15.4inch macbook and the 17inch is only like 1inch width, about 3/4inch depth, and they are the same thickness.

    Congrats on the purchase! :D

I'm kinda in the same boat. Bought a Mac after a lifetime of Windows. Never will I go back.

I have a 17 inch unibody macbook pro and I never regret buying it. It is so great to read something on the screen and it is not heavy at all.
