    Hello guys!

I was thinking of purchasing a MacBook PRO or AIR for my job, but I've decided to wait for the next version of MacBook.

    Thank you!

From being over at Macrumors all of the rumors are pointing with a release of a new, thinner 13" and 15" MBP within the next month. Rumors are they will have 100,000 units ready for sale by the end of this month.

As far as the airs, not sure.

No one is sure when they will come out. I do believe that new MBP's will come out first with quad cores. Intel has said that they have a lot of abundant i5's and dual core processors and won't be releasing new ones until the current stock is running out. Thus the new Air's won't be out until late summer. Although i've heard that quad cores are still on track to be released next month. This is just speculation no one actually knows what Intel will do and anything could happen at this point.

I would choose the PRO over the AIR. I think the pro is well equip for work because it is more durable and will travel well even though it is slightly heavier.

    Thank you guys!

Well I've decided to buy the PRO version. I will actually use it for graphics and web design.

Pro is a bit better on color accuracy, but you have to go 15" with an upgraded screen to get the rez you will need.

Also waiting for a new Air / Pro - I hope they have a built in 3g/4g radio like in the ipad - it would be nice to have Verizon connection in the laptop with my ATT iphone tethering so I always have both.

You can't go wrong with the Pro version. A few of my friends have it and it runs perfectly smooth

Does anyone know if the upcoming new macbooks will use thunderbolt ports on usb 3.0 ports? I assume at least one Thunderbolt port will be on these? Also I assume there will be a 17” MBP so far I am only seeing articles regarding a 15” MBP.

There will for sure at least be one thunderbolt port. Everyone is hoping for USB 3.0 but knowing apple they might resist doing that in order to gain more interest in their thunderbolt technology.

And usually the MBP 17 is released later after the 13" and 15" so that is why not much is being said about it now.

If nothing else, it's worth to wait for the new model so that we can save a ton of money on the current models.
