    Hi,

I am happy to say that I have finally made the switch from PC to Mac. After years of using windows, I am ready for something new. I just purchased a refurbished Apple Macbook (black) from the apple store online. Its the previous generation macbook with santa rosa. 2.2Ghz 1 Gig Ram 160 HD and updated integrated graphic. I got this for $1135 with tax. What do you think about this deal? Good or bad?

Also, I will be a first time user when i get my macbook, any advice? When i first receive the macbook, should i plug it in and then turn it on? or should i just turn it on. I have seen people do both. Thanks alot for your advice and comments.

@OP: That's a much nicer machine than the MB I owned, and you got a better deal. Congrats and enjoy.

Edit: missed your question. Plug it in so the battery will charge, and read your manual. Oh, and [IMG]

yeah, charge it up first to the full, then turn it on. while you're doing this, read up the mac owners manual.. it is very useful.
other than that... well use it like any other notebook... treat it gently, love it :) and... when it is trying to sleep (white light at front turn on).. dont move the computer until the lights starts pulsing, which indicates that the harddisk has been turn off.

also, read Sam's excellent "Mac Switcher's Guide"

Thanks for all who replied (except Chriz69), if you are not going to be helpful or just going to keep on hating on Mac, there are plenty of other mac hating sites that you can post on, please post there. I've been using PC for close to 20 years and i would not say that PC sucks.

    Guys,

Back on topic-some posts were deleted. This thread is not for apple v. PC debates. Also if you have nothing nice to say, then dont post.
