the only think I've heard is that Steve Jobs announced the Intel machines won't be here until Summer 2006. Not a very exciting announcement, or rather, a downright depressing announcement.

because apple has slowly whittled away anything that made it great and can now only differentiate itself by how cute/sexy it molds the plastic surrounding its china-sourced product, and how their cute plastic and marketing can convince people to buy stuff even when it pales in features/price/quality compared to iriver/cowon/asus/whoever..

but at least theyre still around, lots of big fat lame companies need someone to copy from

apples processors don't really compare to the Intel Centrino's so i'm not sure what you are talking about, Ipods are best mp3 player, but i wouldn't say Apple really innovates much at all, in the technology world, everything is a copy of a copy of a copy so who cares if it is or not?

but i will still not even consider buying an Apple :p

this has all been hashed before but every other mp3 player brand has for years offered line-in/microphone recording, FM Radio, record from FM, OGG, FLAC and WMA formats, etc. all apple wins on is pretty case design (but even they scratch faster than anyone else..)

i bought apples for years, back when they were the only game in town for design, audio, and a nice OS. now with kde 3.5 (and 4.0 coming) and linux, and a whole slew of nice desktop (lian-li, shuttle) and notebook (msi/asus/etc) vendors theres no looking back

that said im sure the new powerbooks will be nice, lets see if they can come up with something compelling (convertible tablet anyone?)
