If I buy the new Apple Airport extreme base station, will the wireless range in my house improve if I am using it with a mac mini.

I understand that the new base station is 802.11n compatible but my mac mini it not. Will it still improve range though?

    Thanks

your Mac Mini being in the network just make the router use 802.11g, which should also be using the range that G is capable of, nto 100%

but honestly the range should still be fine even using G

is the Mac Mini Connected via ethernet cable? maybe if the Mac Mini is connected through ethernet maybe you can still use your MacBook Pro using the N connection.

You won't see any difference with the min since it is not N. Also, I would not recommend the AirPort Extreme Base Station to anyone for several reasons, but mainly that it does not perform as well as most N routers and it has no gigabit ethernet, which it should for that price.

Are there any reasons to get the Apple base station compared to your typical home Linksys router? I think they're way overpriced.
