    Hello All,

I have run into a problem while sharing the folders on my network for which I need some help. Basically, network connection is fine if I am just sharing folders. But, I wanted to share a whole drive volume from my main desktop PC over the network. When I connect to the server from my macbook ( Finder > Connect to Server > smb:\\Server Name ), I can see the drive name over there but upon opening it says " The operation can't be completed because the original item for "NAME" can't be found.

Well, this isn't true, as I tried sharing just one folder from that drive and it works! Is there something extra required for sharing a whole volume drive? Any help would be appreciated :)

Ok, never mind I got the solution. Apparently the sharing was setup fine, but when sharing a whole drive volume from windows, you have to go to the properties of that drive > then to security tab and add the usergroup through which you will accessing the data over the network. That solved the problem :)
