I have two brand new sealed MBPs sitting in my room, one is late 08 2.53/4gb/320g/9600 w/512, the other is early 08 2.5/2gb/250g/8600 w/512, and I need to make a decision about which to keep. The glassbook has a build date of late Oct (week 44) while the classic was built in late Sep (week 40).

    Likes about the classic:
    matte screen
    keyboard (believe it or not)
    mostly perfected model
perfect balance in the looks department

    Potential problems:
    yellow LCD screen
    uneven backlighting
failure on 8600 (though late Sep should have a lower chance of infection)
    heat issues?

    Likes about the glassbook:
    unibody rigidity
like the glass screen for good color contrast, not so much for all the reflections
overall feels somewhat more like an expensive machine
    better specs
well honestly, it's new and cool

    Potential problems:
yellow LCD panel (LG panel is great, Chi-Mei sucks, verified this myself)
    uneven backlighting
    crooked keys
    loose battery cover
can't be sure if the reflectiveness will drive me insane or not
a little too much form over function, looking good is great, but slapping on too much make-up can be slightly irritating
more potential problems to surface since this is Rev A

Money's not an issue at this point, but selecting a machine that I will be happy with day-in and day-out is critical. I've been dwelling on this choice all night but cannot make up my mind. Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!
