    Hi guys,

I'm a student and I'm using word processing A LOT. On my iMac I presently have iwork 09' and office 2008 for mac. I often create stuff on computers at school (office 2007 (.docx files) / XP) and bring em home by e-mail or usb key. For now, every single time I did that, Pages 09' wasn't able to open the document, but office 08 4 mac was. If I wanted to work on them through iwork, i had to open it with office 2008, save it in .doc file and then open it with iwork, and very often some details weren't there, things, texts, pictures had moved,etc... That's bs if I depend on office to use iWork... To create something, Pages is okay, but if I can't open files with it, that's dumb. Am I doing something wrong or iwork isn't reliable? If you need anymore info to help me, tell me.

I hope you guys could help,

    Thomas

    Impossible to open document «ilovepoop».
As I said, if i open it with office 2008 and re-save it, then I can open it with iWork...

easier way is when you are working on a document at school is to SAVE AS "Word 97 - Office 2003 Document". By doing this it will save as .doc instead of .docx.

Agreed. My teacher couldn't open a .docx for some reason, and could open a .doc. This has happened many of times sending files to many people, so I'd recommend saving it as a .doc for more compatibility. ;)
