Anyone using NX Client to connect to a linux machine? I use it for remote desktop and it's pretty sweet and runs well. However, the mouse color is terrible. It's a weird yellow outline that is VERY hard to see. I can't seem to get the mouse look to change, except for what direction the pointer points to and it's size.
Anyone know a way to make it easier to see? Is this due to X11?

I use VNC and it seems to work great in remote controlling both Windows and Linux Boxes from my Mac
Sometimes it looks a little strange if you choose a very small color palette (like 8) to save bandwidth over a slow connection but other than that its very readable for these tired old eyes. -
Yeah, I cant' get VNC to work over SSH. And I won't use VNC unless it is over SSH due to the security holes in VNC. And NX is faster.
I use something aroudn 1280x1024 on the client and with full colors on. It's just I can't get the **** mouse colors to show. -

Check out RealVNC. It provides for a secure (SSL) connection, the clients are free and the servers are reasonably priced. Its what I use as I don't want things like logins going out unencrypted over the internet either.
Can't speak to the speed issue. I find VNC fast enough for remote administration but I would not want to actually use it for remote working off of a machine. -
It needs to be open source and free. RealVNC is out of the question.

I've never used NX,VNC and remote X sessions always fitted my needs, even though I always heard high praise for its speed. I'll try installing it and see if the same problem occurs, perhaps it is a configuration glitch or a bug in either the server or client.

BAH, oh well. It's a minor issue. -

Hrm curious. Thanks much for giving that a try. I'll have to see if it does the same thing on a windows machine.
If it was through an obscure setting in the client or server part, I wonder why they would choose such a poor color.
