A few days ago I looked on the apple website. The base 15 inch MBP came with a 2.1 core i7 and the $2100 version had a 2.2 core i7. The $2100 also had an option to upgrade to a 2.3 core i7. Also, the base MBP had a 6490M and the $2100 had a 6750M. NOW, the base ($1800) comes with a 2.2 ghz core i7 that was in the old 2100 dollar model, and the 6750M that was in the old 2100 dollar model. So, basically, you have the old 2100 dollar one now costs 1800. SWEET!!! Now, the 2100 dollar model comes with a previously unseen 2.4 ghz and an option to upgrade to an also previously unseen 2.5 ghz. The best part is, it comes with a much more powerful previously unseen ATI Radeon HD6770M!!! This is fantastic. Finally apple is putting some more powerful video cards into their systems. These are the same video cards used in HP dv6t systems. So now I can get the power of an HP with the quality and style of a Mac!!! Even though the changes may seem minor, they are actually pretty big for computer enthusiasts (right?). So now Apple has basically crushed the HP envy line (not the dv6tqe, though). I am canceling my order for the HP envy right now!!!
