I just bought my first mac yesterday... a MBP... My old lappy is a dell 8600 and it's been working quite all right, a few hiccups here and there but this morning, my wireless internet just stopped working... and it gave me a blue screen twice today...

coincidence? who knows... good thing I got my mac just in time... :D

    apologize...

or just press F8 until a screen comes up and click last good known configuration. it should work. if it does, and you still dont have wireless, do a system restore

Don't worry, Dells are like that. Everything can be fine one day, and all of a sudden the next day you get kicked to the couch, it won't even speak or look at you, and you don't know why!

    Here's what you can do:.

    1. It's your fault! Even if it's not, even if you've no clue what it was you supposedly did, even if it's obviously the Dell's fault...grit your teeth and just apologize for it...

    2. Flowers. Buy lots of flowers. Make sure they're real and fresh.

    3. Housework. Do the housework. Clean your room. Clean the bathroom. I know it sucks, but it's almost over.

    4. Dinner. Either cook up a banquet, or if you're already on speaking terms again, take it out to a nice restaurant.

    5. Never at any point admit that you have no clue why it's acting up!

    6. Don't let the Dell see the MBP in the same room. Assure it that it's the only computer in your life. Always make sure you don't have stray hairs or the MBP's smell lingering on you when you return home. Do not let the Dell see your checkbook.

    7. Make sure you have a way out. A good lawyer is key.

I had an 8600c Inspiron and the hard drive failed, which was a Hitachi ATA-6 60GB 7200RPM. So I went with a MacBook Pro, heh. Very happy with my switch.

Mine always seemed to create problems. I couldn't go one week without something messing up.
