    Hi,

You may have read in my other post that I'm new to OS X, and if you haven't, well, I'm new to OS X. I just wanted to make a little list of things that I am absolutely blown away by. I typically don't make threads like this, but none of my friends have yet converted from Windows computers, and they don't want to hear about how amazing I think OS X is. So here goes...

    1. My Microsoft Intellitype Pro keyboard has better options than it did for my XP machine. I mean, When I pressed the mail hotkey my keyboard had it would open some bizarre mail client, one that I never configured. I wasn't even able to change what the hot key did! Now it's a completely different story in OS X. I can use the default mail client, which I'm using, but if I wasn't, I could use it to do a completely other task. Fantastic! I mean, my keyboard has a bunch of hotkeys which I never used, simply because they did what I didn't want them to do, but now I'm using them so much more because they actually can do what I want! I love it!

    2. My Logitech VX Revo has more settings too! I can eject the damned CD, zoom, take a screen shot, use expose, search in finder, etc etc all on my mouse! I'm blow away.

I'm not going to make this list tiring to read, but I think that OS X is really, really impressive. I wasn't expecting much when I plugged in my Microsoft keyboard to the USB slots but I was totally wrong. I mean, for God's sake, the calculator/log off/sleep buttons work on the keyboard. Jeeze. Talk about getting the job done Steve Jobs--- I love you.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the experience. Funny how things "just work" in OS X isn't it? For me it was networking things (other computers and a non network printer) that drove me crazy in Windows took only a few seconds to set up. Its hard to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it for themselves.

    Yeah, the OS is amazing!

I use Logitech's Setpoint, and it works very well.

I just got my macbook last week and using OS X for the first time too. It's taking me a while to get used to things just working. Like the external hard drive from my pc took like 20-30 times of plugging and unplugging to get it working....mac took it first try.

Networking is insane. My alienware vista laptop required me to get a PHD in windows networking to get sharing and 1 printer to work....mac again just works.

Haha, I haven't experimented with network printing. I never have before; whenever I needed to print something it was literally get up and bring the notebook to the printer, hahaha.

One thing which is bugging me is learning keyboard shortcuts, I'm too used to windows!

    Oh, I love it regardless.

Congrats on your purchase, glad you're liking it. :)
Have you considered a new avatar? That one is kind of tough to look at. :p Creating your own manga avatar seems to be the popular thing going around NBR at the moment. :)

Haha, I will invest time in concocting a new one. You've never seen windowlicker before by aphex twin? It's an odd, odd music video.

--- On another note with the MacBook, what is that dot on the left of the iSight. It doesn't light up and a google search brought me to a website that said it was a mic, which it obviously isn't. The mic is above the escape key.

So WHAT is this mysterious little thing on the left of the iSight?

    Thanks!

Most of the windows keys can be reproduced by just using the command/apple key.
And yea, networking a printer is SOOOO Much easier.
