So I'm a windows user, but am stuck on a Macbook for a few weeks (long story). Anyways, I am having trouble with the mouse. For some reason, it doesn't track correctly. When I move it relatively quickly, it's fine, but if I move the mouse slowly, the cursor barely moves, so I can move the mouse all the way from one corner of the mouse pad to another almost without moving the cursor.
This problem never happened under Windows, and I've tried several different mice on several different surfaces but the problem doesn't go away. Help please!

What mice are you using? The manufacturer may have drivers to help. For example, Logitech mice use the Logitech Control Center for Macintosh® OS X.
Otherwise just go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse. You can access the System Preferences from the <noparse>Apple</noparse> Menu in the upper left corner of the screen. After you click the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane choose the Mouse or Trackpad tab and make adjustments to the Tracking Speed. Should look something like this, but depends on the mouse...

Sounds like it could be a mouse acceleration thing. See if you can turn that off, not sure if you can but you can try.

Thanks everyone who responded, especially sulkorp. It turned out to be the driver accelerating the mouse nonlinearly. I found a program online to fix this, called MouseFix. You can find it at http://www.knockknock.org.uk/mac/ for anyone who's interested.
