In Windows there is an option to enhance the pointer precision and acceleration. I looked at the System Preferences' Mouse settings but all I see is Tracking Speed as something that is close to those. Is there a way to get acceleration and enhanced pointer precision in OSX? When I'm moving the mouse very slowly in Windows, the acceleration kicks in and the mouse has more precise movement.

What mouse do you have? Did you check the manufacturer's website for Mac software - your best option?

Anyways, there are some thrid-party software options that deal specifically with acceleration:
    iMouseFix (Freeware)
    USB Overdrive ($20 Shareware)
    SteerMouse ($20 Shareware)

Though, as far as I can tell, none of these programs are still being developed except SteerMouse. So you'll have to see if they work with your mouse.

I have tried a couple mice so far, both with the same results. The ones I've tried are the Logitech TrackMan Marble Wheel, and my work's Dell mouse (which is horrible to begin with).

I'll try out the programs listed above. Thanks eternal.

Tracking speed will control how fast the cursor moves on the screen.

The Logitech TrackMan Wheel has Mac OS Software <-- I'd definitely try that first!
