    Hey all,

    From what I have read it looks like mac osx has some mouse acceleration going on and has no way to change it or adjust it. So while I move my mouse using a logitech g7 mouse it is either super slow or very fast as I move my hand faster.

    The touchpad however works well..

    Can anyone recommend a free utility to fix this? Thanks..So far from what I am seeing OSX has room for a lot of improvement. Hopefully Leopard is the answer.

    Grab a program called steermouse

    btw.... OS X vs windows is a preference, but if you honestly look at each and what they bring to the table, you will see that Tiger is better than XP or vista. Leopard will simply distance apple even more.

    I was a recent convert (2 mos), and im blow away at how much more easily and logically can get around in Tiger. I cannot even stomach Vista anymore at this point.

    Try this ::

    System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse (tab) > Tracking Speed

    Adjust that accordingly.

    I played around with that. I couldn't get acceleration off. So far this tool is working alot better.

    There is a freeware application called iMouseFix that you can try. Its not perfect, but its better. Google for it.
