I ordered a custom MBP 13" and apple's order status page just sucks. It simply says "Not yet shipped". Doesn't mention any of the stages through which it is / may be going. Anybody got a secret link which gives more insight into whats going on? :)

Haha - no sorry. Apples status pages are pretty much the industry standard as I have come to discover. The only company that I know of which provides more details (like kitting, build, boxing, etc.) is Dell.

Just a quick followup. Apple up my credit card which eventually was blocked by my credit card company. I had to call them and explain them what bunch of retards Apple guys are to get them to unblock it. Even though the charges were approved IN TIME, Apple could not ship in time. Their estimates for a CTO machine is 1-3 business days. After 6 business days I had enough and decided to cancel it. I'm not buying another apple product again :/

Apple likes to keep things simple: Not Yet Shipped or Shipped. It just works haha. Yea a friend of mine just ordered one. Lucky person, his says the same thing.

When I ordered my MBP, it came right on time, exactly as had been promised. In fact, it came one day early. If the funds are available on the card and the charge goes through then I'm not sure what the problem is...

Reading his initial post (and judging by the moderator's edit of his post), it seems like atlguy is saying that Apple screwed up his credit card which resulted in it getting blocked. Not sure exactly what would have happened, but he then contacted his credit card company to explain Apple's mistake and to get his credit card unblocked.
So based on his post, it was Apple who screwed up (not his credit card company) which is resulting in a bad experience on his part (and would have resulted in a longer wait time for his notebook).

Therefore, he is mad at Apple for the poor service and bad experience. Which seems justified to me.

thats not what I read at all. It sounds like Apple just did a normal charge, and it was a big out of character purchase, so the Credit Card company temporarily blocked it for confirmation... Apple just responded normally to the charge not going through.

Yeah, it's common for some credit card company's to block big charges like that, he should of let is CCC know that he was going to be placing a big charge and they would of let it go through. I don't think Apple screwed up anything.
