    Montevina 100% coming in August for Macbook?

    Ok.. so i just bought the new macbook and a couple days after i found out there is a new version coming out in August? Does anyone know if this is true. If it is Iam just gonna return mine and wait for the Montevina but i need it to be before september because I still wanna get the student discount... Also will it stay the same price from the Santa Rosa? Thanks.

    Well the new processor comes out July 14th, I really hope that they come out with new Macs with in July, I have been looking for a laptop since April.

    yea, you'll get the same off with discount even after the promotion. but i see your point. (and perhaps they will renew the printer promotion as well.)

    also, from what it sounds like, laptops with dedicated GPU's (the macbook pro) can get the upgrade (montevina) in july. (that depends on if apple will update it immediately.)

    laptops that use intel's integrated graphics will get upgrade in august. (also depending on if apple will put it in right away.)

    Wait, I can still get a student discount after the 15th but no Ipod? Also will the equivilant of the 2.4ghz Santa Rosa be the same price it is now? or are they gonna up the prices on the Monetevinas? thanks for the help.

    from what i've seen in the past, they keep two 15.4 inch models and the 17 inch model at all times. so both models will get the a speed bump, but the prices stay the same. so essentially, the models selling now will be less (probably refurbished.) that's how i understand they do it.

    Montevina is scheduled for a July release, but its uncertain whether Apple will update the MacBook with it right away. The MacBook Pro, much more likely.

    There most likely won't be any price changes, Mac prices stay the same or drop a bit (rarely, if ever, go up). You get the Student Discount all year round, the iPod promotion on top of that is back-to-school season only :).
