Can it be done? I just don't need backups every hour...
And where are the backup files stored exactly? On my external, i had a cloned copy of my tiger, and then I selected that drive for time machine. But when i open it, i still see my Tiger files and folders, although Time Machine is working

I'm not sure if you can modify it, the only way I can think of is for you to unplug the drive and plug it back in whenever you want to backup, which I guess is not that convenient, but it's an option.

As for the location of time machine's backup, it would be in the root of your drive, I forget what it calls the folder, but it would create a folder tree pretty much in exactly the same way as your leopard hdd, you can navigate it in finder as well.
