What do you guys think? Expensive as heck, but... I wonder why did Apple never made a tablet itself. Perhaps too much of a niche market. But I like the Modbook itself, even if it is underpowered for such a expensive machine. Some nice photos here, courtesy of TUAW:

Looks great, but is there a cover for the screen? Something to protect it?

Did anyone get one of these? I read that they are due to be released in the market in April so we should be seeing them in the hands of a few lucky folk.

    Anyone took the plunge?

if the tablet isn't from Wacom it isn't worth my time, that is my thought on the matter.

I believe that it is a wacom screen....looks like you will have to buy one now.

my main concern with the modbook is its size and weight, I think that a 12" screen and something coming in under 2kg would be great, but in its current form its just a bit too bulky for use a a tablet.

You seen the gateway tablets? Those new ones are like, 7 lbs.
    Freaking huge and heavy.

Well, yes, but the gateways have keyboards and everything, plus dedicated graphics (X1400) and a 14" screen.

Compare the ModBook to the 4.5lb Asus R1F, and it starts to seem heavy, considering it doesnt have a keyboard.

Yeah, I though it was a convertible tablet. 5.2 is heavy for a 13.3 inch slate.
My major concern would be how well would OS X support the screen as a tablet?
