I was wondering if there was a such thing as a mock battery case for the Macbook Pro. It would be used for when I would be using it strictly off of the power adapter, not needing the battery, unless I went mobile to a cafe or something of the sort.

If not, is it possible that leaving the battery housing open could potentially damage the computer?

I do not believe one exists, what people usually do is get dead batteries and guy the cells from them.

As long as it's on a desk you'll be find leaving the bay open, I do it all the time on my XPS M1330.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be too much of a problem if it stays in one place.

    Thanks for the reply. :)
