I received a free copy of office home and student for Mac 2008 when I purchased my Macbook pro. (june 16 2010).

    1. Will I get a free upgrade to office 2011 when its released?

    2. I got an offer for 160$, should I sell it?

    Thanks, xDC

If you got Office for free, don't sell it. It's an amazing piece of office productivity. It'll be worth more to you that way.

I say sell it. There are free alternatives you can get in the mean time.

I think the "official" techie recommendation is to stick with your current version of Office unless there is a feature in 2010 that you just have to have.

Stick with what you got. Just going on the reasoning that 2011 > 2008 does not make sense.

I use Office 2008 with no problems at all.
I havent read up on 2011 yet, but if the updates are nothing major, I may just stick with 2008 for now - because it just works!

why insisting on getting the 2011 when you already have Office 2008, and why do u think 2011 will make a dramatic difference over 2008 in you daily computing task??

the only thing in 2011 that is attracting to me is the macro support in excel...
i say sell the office 2008 and use iwork

plus if you are a student you can get office product @ discount price, so sell you office 2008 for $160 is a no brainer
