most show very little to no decrease in battery life, as far as the life of the notebook...it actually extends it because it will support future 64-bit only OSes, but will not decrease the life for any reason that I know of.
... how would it decrease the life of a notebook? I mean... I could understand if you were talking about battery life.... but what exactly are you asking here?
This is silly! What technically decreases the lifespan of a notebook? Would the Merom exacerbate those reasons? And for argument sake let’s say yes, but how could anyone prove this is beyond me. The Merom hasn’t even been released yet to merit feedback to suggest it in fact decreases the life of a notebook.
Heat. Heat will greatly diminish the lifespan of a notebook. Early reviews show that Merom is hotter than Yonah which was already pretty hot. As for decreasing life, something else will probably get to your notebook before heat does.
