Well, the title is probably the gist of my question. If I buy a macbook pro online, and if there are manufacturer problems down the line, can I take it to an apple store for repair and/or exchange?

Have any of you had this experience?

Oh, and how's the MBP (santa rosa) battery life? I've heard anywhere from 3.5 hrs to 4.5 hrs. If it gets anywhere less than 3.5 hrs, that may put a kink in my purchasing decision.

Yes, you can take a problematic Mac to any Apple Store, or an Authorized Service Provider. Any Apple Retail Store is fine. All warranties are supported.

Apple's customer service has been fantastic from everyone I've heard who's talked to them. Many times Apple will get the problem fixed quickly or replace your Mac with a new one, sometimes a higher model.
