    Hi

Does any of you experienced Mac users use maintenance app such as Onyx and ****tail? Or is repairing disk permission enough?

Is ****tail worth the 15 dollars? Any coupon codes?

I don't do any maintenance on my Mac...just occasionally repairing Disk Permissions and such. But then again, I reformat my MacBook every few months anyway :p.

Let me be clear though, you don't have to reformat every few months like I do. I just do it to start fresh again :p. I'm a neat freak, and also I'm lazy (wow, that's almost contradicting...a lazy neat freak ;)) so instead of uninstalling all the applications that I download, use twice and forget about, I just reinstall OS X altogether.

Sam, I've never before heard of a Mac owner who frequently and regularly reformats his machine. I occasionally use Onyx, and MacJanitor also works pretty well. Each beats the hell out of reformatting, IMHO. Geez, that's just way too Windowsish! :D

Well, I don't reformat because of maintenance...I reformat because I like to "start fresh" every few months...I'm a neat freak :p.

Next time you get a crazy urge to reformat, remind yourself that your laptop is a Mac, not a Windows machine. [IMG] [IMG]

I never run any sort of maintenance apps or format. I really see no real need for them. If it makes you feel better I have heard good things about ****tail and it is only $15. However, I see no need.

In general, I agree. However, since MacJanitor and Onyx, are free, wth . . . LOL

Doesn't matter, the OS will still have little tid-bits of information here and there about previously installed programs. That's enough to bother people like him and myself. I just installed Leopard a couple of weeks ago, but I'll probably re-format in the next couple of days since I installed some programs I don't particularly use. That way I not only get a fresh install, but I can free up as much space as possible.
