Do you access the mail accounts using IMAP?

    Space filler?

Who is your provider? I know that if you're syncing with gmail you'll have no end of troubles (not that I say this from repeated, aggravating, experience or anything :p). If you have a provider whose IMAP either isn't implemented correctly, or who has somewhat wonky service (*cough* like the Uni I work for. *cough*) that can lead to the issues that you're reporting.

I often find that just closing mail, and reopening it is what I need to refresh my connections. I also find that the 'Get Mail' button rarely actually gets my mail - I need to wait for the refresh time that I've set the mail query to.

yea space filler. If you try to make a post with 10 letters or less it says its to short. So I put "space filler" to make the post long enough. I usually just make the text white but was to lazy to do that.
