I'm going to be on sabbatical for three months and want to set an auto-reply message. I know how to do this in mail.app using rules.

Here's the issue. I would like it to only send one auto-reply to each sender--even if the sender sends multiple emails. Is there away to do this?

    Thanks.

I've never used this myself, but it seemed to satisfy your requirements. Not sure if it works with the latest version of mail, but don't see why it wouldn't.

But if your auto-reply message states that you're away and unable to respond to email, why would the person continue to send you more messages after seeing it?
