Nice, I've been thinking about picking up a Magic Mouse and it'd be nice to know I can use it with my Boot Camp install as well.

Sorry if I am bringing up old thread, but my problem is that WinXP in BootCamp does NOT even recognize my Apple Magic Mouse, much less the scrolling. I am using BootCamp on Leopard (not Snow) and WinXP.

I tried to add it via Bluetooth as follow:
    1) Click on Bluetooth Devices in the taskbar
    2) Click on "Add"
    3) Turn OFF then ON my Magic Mouse (in this state, the mouse will be in discovery mode)
    4) Click "Next"
    5) Enter Passkey, which is "0000"
    6) WinXP found the Mouse and I selected it.
    7) Mouse is now added under "Bluetooth Devices"

But the Mouse doesn't work. After 1 minute, the mouse disappear from the "Bluetooth" devices. What happened here?

BTW, I am still using Boot Camp 2.0. I heard there is a new update of Boot Camp, but I don't see it in Apple Software Update.

You can download the standalone .exe from Apple Support. Have a look here.

Definitely ought to try that before troubleshooting further.

Exi, do you have Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x)?

I am on Leopard (10.5.8) and I am still running BootCamp 2.0, as shown in BootCamp Assistant in OSX. NOTE: I don't see the version number from BootCamp in XP.

The only updates I see from your link are BootCamp 2.1 and then 2.2. I am going to try that.

Does BootCamp 3.0 only work with Snow Leopard (10.6.x)?

Shot, I found out that installing Win7 on BootCamp requires BootCamp 3.1 and Snow Leopard 10.6.x.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3986

So that means I cannot upgrade my BootCamp to Win7 unless I upgrade my OSX from 10.5.x to 10.6.x... I wonder what is it that 10.6.x enhancements are such that Win7 cannot be installed unless I have 10.6.x.

Bummer. Didn't realize that BC 3.0+ was restricted to SL. :( Although I will say that Win7 was being used by many with no problems on BC 3.0. Sorry about that.

Anyone have any thoughts on getting things working properly on XP?

I had the Magic Mouse working on my Win7 x64 but I returned it and got the Anywhere MX Darkfield Logitech mouse. Best portable mouse ever!

I finally got it to work. Once I installed Update 2.1 and then 2.2, I used the "Bluetooth Devices" app and let it connect WITHOUT entering the BT Passkey. Afterwards, the Magic Mouse tries to connect and I entered the BT Passkey "0000".

Thanks for letting me know about the update! I wish Apple Software Update in WinXP will let me know about it!
