    no, GarageBand is a pretty good media mixer. Macs = multimedia to many people, and have some very good applications for doing so.

    But their media player doesn't play everything under the sun like mplayer does ;) Go Linux! :p

    You certainly know you can use Mplayer on macs too right? plus there is a ton of pro-level sound apps available for Macs.

    Mplayer is available for Linux, Windows and OS X... and I use it on all three systems ;)
