First off, putting this here because its Mac related, and second this doesn't count as "notebook" and definitely not a "notebook assessory"

Anyone tried using their Macbooks to connect to an external LCD yet?

I'm looking to get an LCD screen 19" Widescreen. I know Macbook resolutions can go up to 1920 x 1200 external. Anyways, Just don't want to end up getting something that won't work with OS X. It appears that companies don't really put on what OS is supported as much anymore. Yes, I have seen monitors not work on macs before.

The 19" WS I'm looking at are all 1440 x 900, so it shouldn't be a problem using.

My MBP hooks up to my older Dell 18" Ultrasharp beautifully! All I do is plug in the power and DVI, shut the lid and then wake it up with a mouse and voila! No configuration at all.

No problems on mine either mBp - tried on both 18 and 24" Dell Ultrasharp and went without a hitch. Current set up has my mBp hooked on via DVI and Dell e 1705 via VGA onto my dell 24"

So basically its going pretty well with the monitors you put in.

I'm still debating between a 19" or 20", the extra resolution I can get with the 20" is really tugging at me. Cashmonee actually already answered my next question about shutting my lid and using external mouse and keyboard. thanks.
