I'm looking at cutting down the price on certain parts and upgrading in the futur(ram most likely). I was wondering if the base 2.16ghz core 2 duo with 1 gb ram, 128mb dedicated, etc provides good multitasking and good performance, with programs like adobe photoshop/audition/premiere, games via bootcamp and heavy audio and video editing.

    user experience would be appreciated,
    thanks.

Depending on what kind of files you'll be using, you may find that more memory is needed; especially for video editing.

You're going to want to get that second 1GB stick of memory for Photoshop, games, video editing, etc.

Just get a 1GB stick of G.SKILL RAM from newegg for like $60; can't go wrong.

Apple finally did the right thing and the 1GB is one stick instead of 2x512.

For under $70 and less than 5 minutes, you can pop in the 2nd 1Gb stick and be on your way.

I'd recommend 2GB for the apps you mentioned.

No less than 2GB, and be ready to upgrade to 3GB when it's reasonable.Today's apps are RAM hogs, and there's no doubt that will increase in the future.
