    Hi everyone,

I own an old 2006 macbook. Windows 10 (32bits) is running on. I have an issue with the CPU, intel T7400. The processor is running 1Ghz per core max instead of 2.1Ghz.

What I did for the moment :

    - first installation I use Windows Update to find drivers. After I use Apple drivers through Bootcamp 4 and after 5.
    - I reinstalled W10 again with Apple driver (through Bootcamp 4). Everything is working nice, keyboard, sound, webcam, trackpad, ...
    - I scanned for new driver using Windows Update, Touslesdrivers, driverbooster, Intel driver assistant, ....
    - I installed Intel XTU (CPU not supported)
    - I installed ThrottleStop (CPU not supported) to have some informations
    - I did lot of others things, I don't remember all.

This isn't thermal control because even when my PC is cold the CPU is runing only 1Ghz. Max temp is 50°C.
I try to reinstall MacOSX 10.6. The CPU is running 2.1Ghz.

This isn't a power limit because the voltage is 0.9V instead of 1.2V

I checked those information with HWinfo.

Windows reconizes my CPU like 2.1Ghz each core.

The EFI is the last version (mac Version MB21.00A5.B07 (EFI 1.1)). The EFI is locked so I can't go in like other laptop with UEFI, it's sad.

If someone has an idea, that can help me.

    Bye

    Alfly

Have you tried installing Windows 7? It would work a lot better on that machine than 10.

    Hi everyone.

So I come back to explain what I did, what I will do.
My laptop is compatible only with MacOsX 10.4/5/6 due to efi limitation.
So the windows drivers are Bootcamp 1/2/3.
I have only the MacOsX 10.5 dvd, so Bootcamp 2. I have to buy 10.6 version to have BC3.
I tried XP, W7 and W10. W10 is compatible with BC4 and above only.
With XP and W7 everything is working nice except Fan control and CPU control.
But I read it can be because there is no battery. On Apple website I read if there is no battery CPU turn itself in low power. So I bought a new one, I am waiting to receive it now. Then I wil try those 3 OS again.
With MacOsX 10.5 and 10.6 my laptop is runing at full power.
I tried Linux Xubuntu and Ubuntu but I got drivers issues (graphics and touchpad).

Is there a way to enter into efi?

    Hi,

I come back to give some info for those who are curious.
By installing battery my CPU ran to 2.1GHz.

I chose to keep Wxp and W7 because W10 use two time more CPU than W7 on that computer.
I found no way to undervolt the CPU to reduce heating.

My two only issues are :
    - Computer is very hot even at idle (from 5 to 10% cpu usage), fan is running middle speed all the time and full speed easily for nothing (With XP and Seven).
    - Boot is pretty long. Is the dual boot (XP/W7) the problem.

    Any ideas?

PS : Does someone know what is DC-IN MLB S0 rail temp sensor into HWInfo?
