I was configuring a macbook the other day, and I noticed that it could be conficured with a 160 or 200GB hard drive.

can the tiny 13.3" chassis accomodate 2 HDDs or have they come out with single 200GB hard drives?

It is a sinlge HDD, AFAIK. 200GB 2,5" HDDs have been available for some time now, despite being quite expensive. I think Toshiba has just released a 300GB 2,5" HDD, in fact.

    I guess it's only 4,200 rpm?

    Fujitsu released it ;)

But remember, those are 200 GB 4200 rpm hard drivers... So if you want performance and space go for the 160 GB, it has a 5400 rpm.

It's got the SuperDrive so I wouldn't go with anything bigger than 100 (IMHO). Plus I'd keep a backup on an external since its prone to failure in the future.

I heard that because the 200GB drive is more tightly packed it actually doesn't drop in performance from the lower speed. But I can't substantiate this with facts, that's just the explanation I was given by someone that knows more about hard drives than me (or at least says he does :)).
