I have a question do you think that Apple will have a MacBook update when Snow Leopard is released, or just start shipping them out with Snow Leopard?
Should I order one now and buy Snow Leopard when it comes or wait until Snow Leopard is released? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It`s only $9.95 to update to snow leopard anyway if you purchare a mac on or after June 8th, 2009

And considering the MacBook(Pro) line did just get an update, it's very unlikely there will be another when SL is released.
-
agree,maybe in October

I think that I'm going to wait till December.

Nothing new will come out in December, more towards Mac World if anything.
Unfortunately I have only 2 machines that can upgrade to SL, the others have already been left behind but still run as they should.
Although the OS may change the data can still be interchanged.
I also thought that they wanted SL released earlier like in September. -

December is the worst time to buy. No company ever releases a new product then, its all about clearing stock, and making lots of $$$$.
Traditionally Mac has done updates in Jan-Feb. Thus if your waiting for an update this would be the time to wait for.
With intel releasing their new CPUs and chipsets in Q4 this year, my bet is that Apple will wait till after Xmas to refresh the mbp line then.

I hate when people ask about things and state them like news in the topic title. Its not a big deal its just sad not to see what expect (or desire) when I click on a topic

lol. anyways, there's just been an update recently. so no new updates.

The next update won't happen until the mobile nehalem processors are released which is late 09 early 2010.
Notebooks will be a real screamer by then. I would of waited until those were released, but with the recent price drop plus student discount, I couldn't pass it up.
Plus student discounts happen in the Q3, which means I would have to wait another year to get a good deal on a mac. -
Not only will they be real "screamers," they will also be toaster ovens again like back in the original Core Duo days when 60C idle was considered OK.

actually I think they'll consume the same amount of power and generate about the same heat.
