hehe, we're in the same boat. Bought a laptop for my bro a while back, was going to get him a Macbook but the Inspiron had an 8400 so I got it instead. I would love to see some kind of dedicated card in the Macbook, but it's doubtful. Macbook is kind of the low-end mac notebook... so I don't think they'll do something like stick dedicated graphics in it. That spots probably reserved for the pro. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    itll NEVER happen.

the MB is TOO MUCH like the pro already, given its got the same CPU as the base MBP, which i think is foolish.

I highly doubt Apple would do something like this. They want to distinguish their two products. Otherwise the MB and the MBP would be too similar.

If anything, it would most likely have been included into the "13.3-inch MacBook Pro"...but with the MacBook Air, that certainly wasn't the case...so I wouldn't expect it now.

Personally, I would want it with one. I prefer the X3100.

I doubt that Apple would put a dedicated video card into the Macbook. It would require a pretty big internal redesign to accommodate the extra heat etc. Also a discrete video card is one of the major price point differences between the MB and the MBP.

Like Sam said if you're looking for a 13.3 inch Apple laptop with a dedicated video card you will most likely have to wait until they release a 13.3 inch MBP (which may or may not happen, so I wouldn't hold off purchasing something for it).

But by that time we won't need the entertainment of a dedicated card, because we'll be having so much fun skating over the frozen lava pit of hell and riding on the back of flying pigs :(

imagine it now. Vista and Leopard mate, and form.....

Look, up in the sky, its a bird...its a plane....its....

Vistard :) Dummed down for everyone , and now available in 18 versions, ahah...all the security nightmares of Vista, coupled along with all the R&D of OSX. get it, Vista-RD :)

yea, itll never happen. MB are a good entry level computer, and I would never want a Dedcard in them.

give me a break , i was trying to be funny :) i havent had lunch yet.
