Calendar and Contacts have their own icons on the Macbook but Notes is no where to be found. I did find a Notes folder in my Mail but nothing seems to Sync even though I clicked the Sync Notes Option in my Itunes.

Why can't something as simple as Notes sync between the Iphone and a Macbook??

Just use evernote to sync your notes between mac, iphone, pc and web.

Notes are synced in Mail. Or at least that's where they appear for me. I'm not sure if you have to be a mobileme subscriber to do so - hopefully not...

To get this finally working on my Touch, after not working for months, I had to go into Mail and found a checkbox in Preferences/Composing/Create Notes and To Dos pulldown for On My Mac. This then created two mailboxes under notes, one for On AOL and the other On My Mac; all my notes then started appearing under the latter, and suddenly started syncing with my Touch. I believe that this distinction is the key, because otherwise I think the Notes are synced/stored with your ISP mail server and iPhone OS can't see them so nothing happens.
