Hi, I have gotten the macbook with x3100 almost month ago, and so far I have encountered 3 random freezes.

Basically, when it happens, the screen goes weird (like all the pixels are distorted and the only thing I can do was shutdown and restart.

Does anyone else encounter this problem? Is it a driver issue with x3100 maybe?

The 3 times, first time was setting up Leopard, second time when trying to play wow, third time when watching videos on youtube.

Have you tried restarting the Mac, repairing Disk Permissions, or resetting the PRAM?

Once I restart, the problem goes away, but it may happen again as i said before.

In fact, restarting is the only method of fixing it

Can you explain the other 2?

    Thanks

Take a look at the Troubleshooting section of the Mac Switcher's Guide. It has information on how to do those there :).

Hmm... that's a weird problem indeed. I have no such a problem on my SR MacBook.
Worst possible scenario is that it's a hardware problem regarding a connection from the motherboard to the LCD.
