Hi,
Just have a quick question, I just bought some ram for my new macbook, a corsair 1gb 667 ddr2, but after installation, it kept crashing. When I removed the ram it worked fine. Somebody told me its because the ram is too cheap and macbooks are very difficult on ram. Even kingston valueram wont work. Is this true?

More than likely the ram wasn't seated perfectly. I had to try a few times removing and reinserting the ram module before getting stable operation. This problem isn't limited to just macbook pro's either, I had the same problem with my dell precision m70.

Like win said, try putting it back in and be sure it is in tight. If it still crashes then the RAM is either bad or incompatible. Macs are rather finicky about their RAM. Corsair is one of the brands they tend not to like I believe. Most users here have had good luck with g. skill and i myself use Mushkin with great success. You could also try resetting the PRAM, sometimes that helps.

I use corsair ram. the system didnt boot up, so i reseated the ram. Press it firmly.

it could also be bad ram.
2 out of 3 sticks of my crucial ram are bad (1 stick in my server, 1 in my desktop)... so yeah, your MB may not like it, or it may be bad.
Seems to have been my year for trashing ram and hard drives... sigh...
